My 5th birthday
Last year I refused to celebrate my birthday because ofa very scarce self-esteem, but in the end I regretted such a decision and I carried on my determination to make things go differently on September 16th of 2010.
So it was.
I had my first very own birthday party this year. I turned 5 years old – not an infant age for a toy.
The celebration took place at home, in the living room of our main apartment. It was very nice, because my siblings – especially little Scarlette – decorated the room with colorful bands and balloons, and Jazz Tiger setup a karaoke, as he always does on family parties. My mom could not bake the cake because of her very heavy belly (Aurora wasn’t born yet), so T’rashara and Sonny did that. It was delicious: chocolate and Andorian blue berries. Doc Ratchet brought us some fresh cookies from a baker on the street, and Chrissa treated me with some of her Chinese recipes that I love so much: seafood, eggs, chili all in a mixed sauce to make a dish of noodles the most memorable food ever. I loved it until the last very small bit. Yeah, I ate so much on my birthday party that I had to undergo a “detoxification process” the following two days to feel better, which means: soups, fruit and a lot of water. Heh.
I received a lot of presents: school supplies, a bigger USB flash drive (16GB), credit for my cell phone and the Twilight Saga on ebook (that’s a read I planned a while ago, but never managed to buy the books).
Not bad, seriously.
I’m more than happy to have chosen to celebrate my birthday this year. If only I bring my mind back in the past, five years ago, when I was handed to Matthew for his birthday… oh, things have changed so substantially ’till then. My past was nothing like this, nothing like my current life. I love my current life. I’m finally a person, no longer just a toy. It’s the most wonderful feeling.

The name is Buzz Lightyear, and I've recently acquired the last name of Prime from my adoptive family. I'm neither a human being, nor an alien, but I'm a closest thing to a robot: I'm a toy. Thus, the blog you're going to read was written by a toy, one that is willing to share his own feelings with whomever cares to read. And, of course, with my beloved 'adoptive' family.
